If Rage Against The Machine and Chappell Roan had a musical baby, it would be The Furious Tits. These jaded punks will have you quitting your job and kissing a stranger by the end of their set. Call them Queercore, call them Climatecore, The Furious Tits bend genres like guitar strings.
Zoe, Miju, Willian and Griz started playing together shortly after the pandemic, and they exploded out of lockdown with a high energy set that has been fueling (tender) mosh pits across the Bay Area. Their lyrics are snarky, their bass lines are funky, their drum beats are rhythmic catnip, and their guitar licks will melt your face.
Started in San Francisco in 2024, 37 Houses is a post-punk indie rock project that sublimates pain into creation. Inspired by artists like Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and Built to Spill, singer/bass player Erin Sydney infuses powerful vocals into the poetically pedestrian lyrics and poignant music written by her husband, guitarist Jeremy Rosenblum. The soul of the music lies in the real-time conflict unfolding within Erin and Jeremy’s marriage. The songs act as journal entries for them to process their pain and for the band to fill with new meaning upon each playing. Rounded out by long-standing musicians, Sean Stillinger (guitar) and Scott Keller(drums), 37 Houses is a creative family that channels their energy into wall-of-sound performances that create a palpable impact. Above all, 37 Houses is a beautiful mess.
Black Gold Sun is a Black girl punk trio from San Francisco playing loud, raw punk. Guitarist/vocalist Anita Lofton toured with Iggy Pop & The Stooges as a member of Sistas in the Pit, while bassist Veronica Savage’s former band Dolorata opened for them. Drummer QLynn, a self-described rhythm activist, brings a fierce, instinctive energy to the band. Blistering guitar, thunderous bass and riotous drums give Black Gold Sun a sound built for the stage, with a live show that pulls people in and turns strangers into fans by the second song.
