Chardvoine & The Evolution

Haitian born but Brooklyn bred this amazing guitarist has covered the gambit of musical styles through the waves of his guitar. He is a great musician a talented artist and a refined professional, he represents the best of modern music and the future of jazz. He's well known around New York for his association with the late great Grammy award winner "Dave Valentin" who's a guest on several of his albums. He had the privilege of playing at Aretha Franklin's birthday bash with the Tito Puente Jr. Orchestra. In 2015 he opened for the famous grammy award winning group the Yellowjackets at the Port au Prince, Haiti Jazz festival. Chardavoine has played with: Dave Valentin, Cornelius Bumpus (The Doobie Brothers), Hamiet Bluiett, Kim Plainfield, a floetry duet with actor Danny Glover to name a few. He has shared the stage with: The Yellowjackets, Oleta Adams, Chrisette Michele, James D train Williams. 2023 came with a great honor for Chardavoine he was endorsed with his own signature guitar line by Barrett Guitars. Chardavoine is a concrete manifestation of what is called 'Haitian Jazz' a new genre emerging in jazz today, his album 'The Tribute' is an eloquent testimony of this genre of music. It showcases his talents not only as an excellent musician and guitarist but also as a seasoned and creative arranger. He has received many awards including one from the Schomburg center for outstanding performance in his effort to help the American Red Cross. The award was presented to him by none other than Max Roach and Bernard Purdie. Chardavoine and Max Roach developed a friendship thereafter , Chardavoine recalls Max speaking of his trip to Haiti as a youngster to meet Haitian legendary drummer 'Ti Roro'to study authentic Haitian rhythms.
