BRASS-A-HOLICS

Since 2010, the Brass-A-Holics have been taking their unique sound around the world. Steeped in the deep musical culture of New Orleans, this band brings a heavy dose of Go-Go funk to the New Orleans Brass sound. In a blending of musical cultures, stemming from cities separated by more than a thousand miles. A Brass-A-Holics live show takes the New Orleans Brass Band culture and infuses it with the electricity of Washington DC's Go-Go. The resulting sound is both captivating and unique.

The band consists of core New Orleans brass elements - trumpet, trombone, saxophone - and adds a full drum set, percussion, keyboard, electric bass, and guitar, giving the band limitless options to explore new sonic territory. Whether performing their original music or using the framework of hit pop songs as springboards for fiery improvisations, there is something in the set to appeal to every music fan. Once the music starts, the demographics blend and a brand new experience is created - one that leaves one-of-a-kind memories that live long after the last note.

Born on the vibrant streets of Washington D.C., The Experience Band & Show rose from humble beginnings as fearless buskers, captivating audiences at iconic metro stations like Gallery Place, Farragut, L’Enfant Plaza, Dupont Circle, and beyond. But they didn't stop there. The band fearlessly championed the #DontMuteDC movement, fearlessly confronting challenges that threatened to silence their free-spirited outdoor performances.

In January 2018, destiny smiled upon them when they triumphed in an Instagram contest, earning the prestigious opportunity to open for the legendary Lalah Hathaway at the magnificent Warner Theater in Washington D.C. This pivotal moment propelled them onto the professional stage, setting in motion a whirlwind of unforgettable performances. Since then, The Experience Band & Show has graced almost every iconic venue, club, and theater in the city, honing their craft and captivating audiences with their undeniable prowess.

But their impact goes far beyond the confines of traditional venues. The Experience Band & Show lives and breathes music in all its glorious forms, masterfully bridging gaps and bringing diverse people together. Their mission is simple yet profound: to promote love and unity through the power of their music.

When the world faced unprecedented challenges due to the global pandemic, The Experience Band & Show refused to let their passion wane. In the wake of the tragic events surrounding George Floyd's death, they took to the streets, joining the Black Lives Matter protests at the iconic Black Lives Matter Plaza. Their music became a beacon of hope, spreading positivity amidst the turmoil.

Out of this crucible of resilience and determination, the Club Experience was born. Located at the revered 14th and U Street Northwest, in front of the legendary Reeves Center, this "club without walls" has become a symbol of community and connection. Every Friday night, The Experience Band & Show gifts the city with a free concert, reminding everyone to embrace kindness, love, and the sheer joy of life's music.
