Puerta Abierta Summer Music Series

Puerta Abierta is a new series from World Cafe Live centering and celebrating the diasporic sounds of Latinx culture. This summer, we’ll welcome artists across a variety of genres and regions to our stages for a mix of live music and educational events.

Puerta Abierta focuses on programs that reflect the diverse communities found in Philadelphia. From May through August, we'll host performances by emerging and established artists in both the Lounge and Music Hall at World Cafe Live. Each night will feature a unique food & drink menu from Executive Chef Rob Cottman influenced by specific Latinx culinary traditions. We'll also bring in new teaching artists to develop and premiere a Bridge Session exploring Latinx music and culture, further expanding our free music education programs.

Guachinangos is a band formed in Philadelphia and based in New York. With members from different backgrounds, they fuse and interpret genres such as Cumbias, Boleros and Son Jarocho, traditional music from the State of Veracruz, Mexico.
