Legacies: American Struggle: Democracy, Dissent, and the Pursuit of a More Perfect Union
Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian and professor of history at Vanderbilt University Jon Meacham joins Revolutionary Ideas to discuss his groundbreaking latest book — American Struggle. Here, Meacham illuminates the nation’s complicated past in this rich and diverse collection, from 1619 to the twenty-first century with primary-source documents that take us back to critical moments in the national experiment. American Struggle demonstrates how conflict is nothing new to our democracy, and as long-running disputes rise and fall, it is important to be armed against despair.
